French Fries, Less than 2% of a Child's Calorie Intake!

( - Depending on the gender and age of the child, French fries make up only between 1.5 percent to 3.07 percent of the daily calories typically consumed by an American child, according to the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey conducted by the federal Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

This bit of data was sent out by the National Potato Council on Thursday after First Lady Michelle Obama announced that Darden restaurants—which include the Olive Garden and Red Lobster--will only be serving French fries to youngsters ordering from the children’s menu if an adult authorizes it.
